Lavastica International is well known in the market as supplier of spare parts, complete systems and custom made equipment. This also includes the ingineering, commissioning and service of complete installations. Lavastica operates in the maritime, offshore and industrial market since 1998. The high quality of equipment and services is one of the reasons many customers have chosen Lavastica as supplier for their projects. Take a look at some of the projects that have been carried out by Lavastica.
FPSO Serpentina – Discharge valve renewal
SBM reached out to Lavastica for the replacement of the E/R discharge valve, specifically seeking a DN900, JIS 10k butterfly valve equipped with an electric actuator and position transmitter. Although the initial request specified an aluminum bronze disc, upon careful consideration of the application, Lavastica recommended a more cost-effective alternative: the Bray S36 carbon steel disc with polyester coating, providing an efficient and budget-conscious solution for the valve replacement.
FPSO Aseng – Safety pressure relief valves
The pressure relief valve (PRV) serves as a crucial component designed to regulate and constrain pressure within a system, particularly in response to potential issues such as process upsets, instrument or equipment failures, or fire. Its function involves alleviating excess pressure by enabling the pressurized fluid to flow through an auxiliary passage, effectively diverting it out of the system.
M/Y Bravado – Fire detection upgrade
The 44.5-meter motor yacht “Bravado” originally featured a Servoteknikk BMS-904 fire detection system, which has since become obsolete. In light of this, Lavastica was enlisted to identify and implement an optimal solution for the replacement of this central system, ensuring the continued safety and efficiency of the yacht.
Pride of York & Pride of Bruges – Fire detection extended lifetime projects
The Ro-Ro/Passenger ferries “Pride of York” and “Pride of Bruges,” part of the P&O Ferries fleet and constructed in 1987, currently feature Autronica fire detection systems of type BS-100. Following Autronica’s recent announcement to discontinue the production of spare parts for this system, P&O Ferries proactively reached out to Lavastica to collaborate on finding an effective solution for the maintenance and upgrade of their fire detection systems.
Sean platform – Fire & Gas detection upgrade
Lavastica International secured the contract for the enhancement of the Fire & Gas Detection system on the SEAN Platform. This development follows Oranje-Nassau Energie’s (ONE) acquisition of a 50% operated interest in the Sean field, situated in the Southern North Sea of the UK, which was successfully concluded in 2015.
M/V Thor Harmony – Fire detection retrofit – Thoresen Shipping
The open-hatch bulk carrier “Thor Harmony,” belonging to Thoresen Shipping and constructed in 2002, originally featured a Servoteknikk BMS-904 fire detection system. However, given the obsolescence of parts for this system, Lavastica recommended a strategic update, opting for a partial Salwico Cargo – STIM refit to enhance the vessel’s fire detection capabilities. This modernization ensures continued safety and compliance for the ship in its maritime operations.
