Sean platform – Fire & Gas detection upgrade

Lavastica International secured the contract for the enhancement of the Fire & Gas Detection system on the SEAN Platform. This development follows Oranje-Nassau Energie's (ONE) acquisition of a 50% operated interest in the Sean field, situated in the Southern North Sea of the UK, which was successfully concluded in 2015.

Lavastica International won the order to upgrade the Fire & Gas Detection system for the SEAN Platform. In 2015, Oranje-Nassau Energie (ONE) completed the acquisition of a 50% operated interest in the Sean field, located in the UK’s Southern North Sea.
Initially, ONE informed Lavastica about the catalytic gas detectors they used to detect flammable gasses. These require a lot of maintenance and Lavastica was asked to provide a solution which requires much less maintenance. Lavastica could realize this and supplied the maintenance free Simtronics GD10-P infrared gas detectors as replacement, including special adaptor plates to fit the existing mounting holes from the old detectors. Next to this, Lavastica replaced all the Spectrex 40/40-I triple infrared flame detectors and all the Draka fire resistant cable including Hawke cable glands required for this project. All equipment has been delivered within the short time frame.
