FPSO Aseng – Safety pressure relief valves
The pressure relief valve (PRV) is a valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system or which can build up for a process upset, instrument or equipment failure, or fire. The pressure is relieved by allowing the pressurised fluid to flow from an auxiliary passage out of the system. The relief valve is designed or set to open at a predetermined set pressure to protect pressure vessels and other equipment from being subjected to pressures that exceed their design limits.
FPSO ASENG contacted Lavastica for a range of pressure relief valves from several different brands. Most suppliers will only be able to supply one brand to fulfill only a part of this requested scope. Lavastica has shown its versatility once more by supplying SBM with a complete set of valves made by Consolidated, Flow Safe and Curtiss-Wright.
