PSV Neptun Express – Fire detection retrofit

The platform supply vessel “Neptun Express” was equipped with the good old Servoteknikk BMS-904 fire alarm system. Since this system is out of production for years now and spares are continuously becoming scarcer and more expensive, the owners decided it was time to upgrade the system to a modern and cheaper to operate system.

Shell Prelude FLNG – Foam proportioner upgrade

Shell’s Prelude FLNG (floating liquified natural gas) facility produces and processes natural gas off the Australian coast. It is one of the most prestigious and costly projects in Shell’s history and it therefore is of the highest importance to protect the facility and the people working on it.

Honeywell Marine (former Auxitrol / Enraf) Distributorship

After several years of good cooperation, Honeywell Process Solutions’ marine division Honeywell Marine appointed Lavastica International B.V. as their distributor for their fixed tank level systems. Honeywell Marine was formerly also known under the brand names Auxitrol Marine and Enraf Marine.

FPSO Saxi Batuque – Flame- & gas detection upgrade

As distributor of Simtronics (part of Teledyne), Lavastica International stocks a large quantity of Simtronics GD10-P gas detectors and Simtronics DF-TV7 flame detectors. As these items are part of the all important safety system, they are often required urgently by our customers, which was also the case with SBM Offshore’s FPSO “Saxi Batuque”.

M/T Fjordstraum – Fire detection retrofit

The 1996 built 5846 DWT tanker “Fjordstraum” had its original Servoteknikk MBS-802 conventional fire detection system still fitted until recently. Now that spare parts and service for this system have become obsolete, the owners contacted their key fire detection supplier Lavastica International to discuss a retrofit of the system to a more modern and future-proof system.

Maldivian cruise hotels – Fire alarm retrofit

Lavastica International has taken FireFinder Marine addressable fire detection systems into their scope of supply since beginning of 2019. Not long after the introduction, we received a nice enquiry for retrofitting the fire detection systems on 2 beautiful cruise hotels in the Maldives.

Kooiman Shipyards – VRC system - 2 x Water injection dredgers

One of the largest dredging companies in the world awarded Kooiman Shipyards the order to build two new water injection dredging vessels. An important part of the installation on board of this kind of vessels is the valve remote control (VRC) system.

M/Y Ziacanaia 1 – Fire detection system retrofit

When the 33m private yacht M/Y Ziacanaia 1 was built in 2011 in Italy, it was equipped with an Eltek fire detection system. When spares and service for this system became obsolete, the maintenance costs just kept rising.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has now reached pandemic status globally. Unfortunately, this also means that the international trade is suffering from this outbreak. So far, the supply to and from Lavastica International has not been affected much.

Europort 2019

Lavastica will be attending Europort from 5 until 8 November 2019. Come meet us at Booth 2215.  Europort is the exhibition for maritime technology, organized in the world port city of Rotterdam. This exhibition will be the international maritime meeting place for innovative technology and complex shipbuilding.
