Europort 2019

Lavastica will be attending Europort from 5 until 8 November 2019. Come meet us at Booth 2215.  Europort is the exhibition for maritime technology, organized in the world port city of Rotterdam. This exhibition will be the international maritime meeting place for innovative technology and complex shipbuilding.

Barge Lancelot – Azcue - Chiller seawater cooling pump replacement

Accommodation work barge “Lancelot” has a capacity of up to 620 people. These people have to stay cool and that is done with seawater chillers that use the temperature of the seawater to cool down the accommodation. And these chillers need a steady supply of water, coming from pumps.

Lavastica International has been cooperating with Oldham Simtronics for more than 10 years and has become their distributor in 2016. The brand Simtronics is best known for being the first company to introduce a true infrared (IR) combustible gas detector, then called GD-100.

MSC Vanessa – Safetec Cargo hold smoke detection system retrofit

Cargo ships do not only require fire detection systems in the accommodation and engine room, but also in the cargo holds. The systems normally used for cargo hold smoke detection use a smoke extraction method, which sucks the air from the cargo holds one by one and blows it through a main unit with smoke detection inside it.

FPSO Espirito Santo – Custom Floating Y-piece

An FPSO stores oil and when it offloads to a tanker, this is done through the export hose, connected to a (floating) Y-piece. With a storage capacity of more than 2.000.000 barrels of oil, FPSO Espirito Santo requires a serious sized export hose and therefore also a massive Y-piece.

M/V Norwegian Star – Bridge display renewal

Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) 294 meter cruise ship “Norwegian Star” was built in 2001 and equipped with then state-of-the-art multifunctional Hatteland displays on the bridge. The displays are used for numerous applications, such as displaying the alarm monitoring system, CCTV, ECDIS and radar.

COSL Semi-submersible rig HYSY 982 – Hernis camera upgrade

The semi-submersible drilling rig Hai Yang Shi You (HYSY) 982, which is owned by China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL) was delivered in 2016 and is now operating for ENI. For this latest operation, COSL required an upgrade of their explosion proof camera system and that is where Lavastica was contacted.

The 104 meter luxury mega yacht “Quantum Blue” was built by Lürssen Yachts and delivered to its proud owner in 2014. On board of such yachts and other vessels, there are numerous applications where batteries are used and one of the certainties with batteries is that they will degrade over time.

FPSO Serpentina – Deutz 16 cylinder fire pump engine overhaul

FPSO Serpentina is a 307,000 DWT FPSO, which is operated by SBM Offshore and owned by ExxonMobil. With a maximum storage capacity of 2,14 million barrels of oil, it is very important that the firefighting equipment is at its best performance at all times.
