Lavastica International has taken FireFinder Marine addressable fire detection systems into their scope of supply since beginning of 2019. Not long after the introduction, we received a nice enquiry for retrofitting the fire detection systems on 2 beautiful cruise hotels in the Maldives. These yachts, used as floating hotels in the beautiful Maldives archipelago, were equipped with very old fire detection systems that urgently needed an upgrade before the busy holiday season started.

For the larger of the 2 vessels, a 58 m superyacht with 16 guest suites, the owner required a high quality, easy to maintain and cost-effective addressable fire detection system. With these requirements, the obvious choice for Lavastica was to use the new FireFinder Marine 4-loop system with Apollo Discovery Marine detectors for this yacht. The system was supplied completely pre-programmed and was installed within just a few weeks after first contact.

The smaller sister vessel, a 27m liveaboard yacht with 7 rooms, was made safe and ready for the season with a fire detection upgrade to the Esento Marine 4-zone conventional system.
