The Apollo XPander Sounder and Sounder Base (XPA-CB-14003-APO) combines wireless alarm notification and detector mounting functionality in a single device. Providing an efficient solution for modern fire detection systems. Designed for use with Apollo XPander detectors and manual call points, it is particularly suitable for applications where conventional cabling is difficult, expensive, or disruptive to install.

Using Apollo’s bi-directional monitored radio platform, the device continuously communicates with the fire alarm system, ensuring reliable performance and ongoing supervision. As a result, the control panel can monitor device status at all times while recognising wireless devices as standard system addresses, simplifying configuration and system management.

In addition, the sounder offers a choice of 32 selectable alarm tones, allowing installers to tailor alarm signals to site specific requirements. Depending on the selected tone, the unit delivers an output of between 92 and 106 dB(A) at 1 metre, providing clear and effective audible warning in a wide range of environments.

Furthermore, the integrated audible self test function allows engineers to verify operation quickly during commissioning and maintenance. The radio base incorporates both the wireless communication circuitry and battery compartment, creating a compact and practical installation solution.

To improve long-term reliability, the detector chamber is designed to reduce dirt ingress, helping to minimise nuisance alarms. Additionally, features such as automatic drift compensation, DirtAlert™ monitoring, and transient alarm rejection help maintain reliable detector performance while reducing maintenance requirements.
