Apollo XPander Optical Smoke Detector (XPA-OP-12034-APO)

The Apollo XPA-OP-12034-APO XPander Optical Smoke Detector is a wireless optical smoke detector designed to provide reliable early warning of fire in a wide range of applications. Using the proven light scatter principle, the detector responds quickly to smoke particles produced by both smouldering and flaming fires, making it suitable for general-purpose smoke detection.

The detector incorporates an advanced optical chamber that uses an infra-red emitter and photo-diode arrangement to identify smoke across a wide range of scattering angles. Furthermore, an onboard microprocessor continuously analyses sensor data using sophisticated algorithms, thereby improving detection reliability while reducing susceptibility to false alarms from non-fire sources.

As part of the XPander wireless range, the detector communicates with the fire alarm control panel via a loop-connected radio interface. Consequently, it eliminates the need for field wiring while maintaining the functionality of a fully addressable fire detection system. In addition, the detector supports pre-alarm, fire, normal, and fault reporting, enabling comprehensive system monitoring.

To further improve long-term performance, the XPA-OP-12034-APO incorporates automatic drift compensation and contamination monitoring. As a result, the detector maintains consistent sensitivity over time and can notify the system when maintenance is required.
