The Tyco 711P 516.900.101 is an optical smoke detector, and senses the optical scatter from smoke particles generated in a fire.
The Tyco 711P is a low-cost conventional detector, and is microprocessor-based, offering features designed to extend the shelf-life of the detector and reduce installed costs to customers.
The 711P 516.900.101 is used in conjunction with conventional 2-wire detection systems, where detectors will normally be connected in zones. Each detector samples the ambient air every 5 seconds. If a fire condition is detected, a signalling current is drawn.
