Lavastica International was involved in the project Pioneering Spirit (previous Pieter Schelte) as representative for the Autronica fire detection system since 2003. The project was engineered by Excalibur, a subsidiary of Allseas Engineering. The Pioneer Spirit is well known in the market because of its size and specific advantages. The vessel is 382 m long and 124 m wide. The Pioneering Spirit has been designed  for single-lift installation, removal of large offshore oil and gas platforms as well as the installation of subsea oil and gas pipelines.  The Autronica AutroSafe system is a high quality fire detection system designed for medium and large installations. The system has been supplied directly by Autronica to the yard Deawoo in South Korea and was commissioned over there. Lavastica International has supplied fire detection, gas detection and related equipment to other Allseas ships as well.
