Lavastica International has been cooperating with Oldham Simtronics for more than 10 years and has become their distributor in 2016. The brand Simtronics is best known for being the first company to introduce a true infrared (IR) combustible gas detector, then called GD-100. This detector was soon followed up by the best known and most used IR gas detector in the world, the GD10-P. But what many people don’t know, is that Simtronics also offers a range of catalytic & toxic gas detectors and top quality flame detectors.

One company that is aware of this fact, is SBM Offshore. They use Simtronics gas- and flame detection on many of their FPSOs, one of which is FPSO Cidade de Paraty. This vessel was equipped with Simtronics DM-TV6 triple IR flame detectors and GD10-P Infrared carbon dioxide gas detectors, which needed replacement. Lavastica has supplied the vessel with the new and improved DF-TV7 triple IR flame detectors as replacement for the DM-TV6 and the like for like replacement for the gas detectors.
