The Simtronics GDU-01 Ex-d is a flameproof version of the Simtronics GDU-01 Ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector. The Simtronics GDU-01 Ex-d Gas Leak Detector is a 3-wire 4-20mA device of the GDU-01.
The Simtronics GDU-01 does not measure any volume, but it detects the ultrasonic noise that is generated by pressurized gas that escapes. To be detected, the leakage requires a driving pressure of at least 2 bar. The detected sound is proportional to the leak rate, meaning that the greater the leak rate, the greater the ultrasound that is emitted.
