Consilium Salwico NS-SCI Short Circuit Isolator N11891

The Consilium Salwico NS-SCI (N11891) protects addressable detection loops in NSAC-1 and CS4000 fire alarm systems by automatically isolating short-circuit faults. By dividing the detection loop into separate fire detection zones, it helps maintain system operation and ensures that a fault in one section does not affect the entire loop.

Furthermore, engineers install NS-SCI units at the beginning and end of each detection zone. If a short circuit occurs within a zone, the isolators on either side of the fault automatically disconnect the affected section from the rest of the loop. As a result, the remaining zones continue to operate normally, preserving fire detection coverage throughout the unaffected areas of the system.

In addition, the NS-SCI provides clear fault indication through an integrated yellow LED on the PCB. When a short circuit is detected, the LED illuminates and remains lit until the fault has been cleared and the system has been reset at the fire alarm control panel. Consequently, maintenance personnel can quickly identify and locate loop faults.
