Apollo XP95 I.S. Ionisation Smoke Detector (55000-540APO)

The Apollo XP95 I.S. Ionisation Smoke Detector (55000-540APO) provides rapid fire detection in hazardous and potentially explosive environments. Using proven ionisation sensing technology, the detector constantly monitors the air within its sensing chamber and quickly identifies the small explosion particles produced by fast burning and flaming fires, helping to deliver an early warning of danger.

The detector uses a low activity radioactive source to ionise the air inside the sensing chamber, creating a small electrical current. When smoke enters the chamber, the current decreases, , making the detector able to recognise the presence of fire and send an alarm signal to the fire alarm control panel.
