The Apollo SIL XP95 I.S. Ionisation Smoke Detector (55000-540SIL) provides rapid fire detection in hazardous and safety-critical environments. Using proven technology, the detector constantly monitors the air within its sensing chamber and quickly detects the small explosion particles produced by fast burning and flaming fires.

The detector uses a low activity radioactive source to ionise the air within the sensing chamber, creating a small electrical current. When smoke enters the chamber, the current decreases, making the detector able to identify the presence of fire and sends an alarm signal to the fire alarm control panel.

Designed for use in intrinsically safe systems, the 55000-540SIL delivers reliable performance across a wide range of environmental conditions. In addition, it remains largely not affected by changes in temperature, humidity, and pressure from the atmosphere, helping to maintain consistent fire detection performance in challenging applications.
