Apollo XPander Sounder Visual Indicator and Optical Smoke Detector (XPA-CB-14020-APO)

The Apollo XPander XPA-CB-14020-APO combines an optical smoke detector, audible sounder, and visual indicator into a single wireless device. Designed for use with the Apollo XPander wireless fire detection system, it provides both fire detection and alarm notification from a single installation point, making it ideal for applications where traditional cabling is difficult, in the way, or costly to install.

Using Apollo’s bi-directional monitored radio platform, the device continuously communicates with the fire alarm system, ensuring reliable operation and continuous supervision. When smoke is detected, the unit activates both the integrated sounder and visual indicator while sending the alarm signal to the fire alarm control panel.

The integrated sounder offers a choice of 32 selectable alarm tones and delivers an output between 92 and 106 dB(A) at 1 metre, depending on the selected tone. In addition, the sounder supports an audible self test function, allowing engineers to verify performance quickly during maintenance and commissioning.

Apollo has also designed the optical sensing chamber to minimise dirt ingress, helping to reduce nuisance alarms and maintain reliable detection performance over time. Features such as automatic drift compensation, DirtAlert™ monitoring, and transient alarm rejection help improve reliability, reduce false alarms, and minimise maintenance requirements.

Furthermore, FasTest™ technology and a remote testing facility enable faster testing, commissioning, and maintenance, reducing system downtime and service time.
