The Apollo Series 65 Ionisation Smoke Detector (55000-217APO) provides fast and reliable detection of rapidly developing fires. Using proven ionisation sensing technology, the detector constantly monitors the air within its sensing chamber and quickly responds to the small combustion particles produced by fast burning, flaming fires.
The detector uses a low activity radioactive foil to ionise the air inside the smoke chamber, creating a small electrical current. When smoke enters the chamber, it interrupts this current flow. The detector constantly monitors these changes and triggers an alarm when smoke levels indicate a fire condition.
Designed for dependable operation in a wide variety of environments, the 55000-217APO combines proven detection performance with a wide operating voltage range and broad operating and storage temperature capabilities. Optional features such as a flashing LED and magnet-operated test switch simplify testing, maintenance, and status indication.
