MEDC DB7 Intrinsically Safe Sounder

The MEDC DB7 is a rugged, intrinsically safe sounder designed to provide reliable audible alarms in hazardous and demanding environments. Suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, it combines a weatherproof, corrosion-resistant design with high sound output, making it ideal for onshore and offshore oil, gas, petrochemical, and industrial applications.

Furthermore, MEDC designed the DB7 with a high ingress protection rating to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including exposure to moisture, dust, and corrosive atmospheres. As a result, operators can rely on consistent alarm performance in some of the most challenging industrial locations.

Available in both 12V and 24V versions, the DB7 supports applications requiring certification for IIB or IIC gas groups. In addition, a lower-cost uncertified version is available for use in non-hazardous areas. The sounder offers 27 user-selectable tones, allowing engineers to choose the most suitable alarm signal for the application. Two different tones can also be switched remotely via the external supply voltage, providing greater operational flexibility.
