FPSO Serpentina is a 307,000 DWT FPSO, which is operated by SBM Offshore and owned by ExxonMobil. With a maximum storage capacity of 2,14 million barrels of oil, it is very important that the firefighting equipment is at its best performance at all times. One of the main components of a well working firefighting system is the main fire pump. The fire pump on FPSO Serpentina is driven by a 16 cylinder Deutz diesel engine and also this engine always needs to be in top condition. This year, it was time for an overhaul of the engine with new cylinder heads, new injectors and of course new packing sets, which were all supplied by Lavastica. The firefighting system is now back in perfect condition again.
