The Salwico SWM-1KL (037174) delivers reliable heat detection in environments where high ambient temperatures make traditional smoke or heat detectors unsuitable. Specifically developed for damp spaces with elevated operating temperatures, such as saunas, the detector provides dependable fire protection while withstanding challenging conditions.
The detector uses a bimetallic thermostat that continuously monitors the surrounding temperature. When the preset alarm temperature is reached, the thermostat closes its contacts and activates the fire alarm system. Depending on the model selected, the SWM-1KL is available with alarm temperatures of 57°C, 80°C, 100°C, or 140°C.
A red LED provides clear visual alarm indication on standard versions and remains illuminated until the fire alarm has been reset at the control panel. For the 140°C version, no integrated alarm indicator is added, but an external indication unit can be connected if visual alarm signalling is required.
For hazardous areas, the detector is also available as an intrinsically safe version, designated SWM-1KL/IS.
