The Consilium Salwico NS-AIN1 connects intrinsically safe (IS) and conventional field devices to Salwico analogue fire alarm systems, including the CS3000, CS4000, and NSAC-1 control panels. By providing a flexible interface between the fire alarm loop and external detection devices, it enables engineers to integrate smoke, heat, and flame detectors into the system.

Furthermore, engineers can configure both the address number and the connected detector type using onboard DIP switches, simplifying commissioning and ensuring compatibility with the fire alarm system requirements.

When a connected detector enters an alarm condition, the NS-AIN1 immediately illuminates a red LED on the printed circuit board. The LED remains active until operators reset the alarm at the fire alarm control panel, providing a clear visual indication of the alarm status.

In addition, the NS-AIN1 requires the supplied ELR-33 End-of-Line Resistor to be installed after the final device on the circuit. As a result, the interface can continuously supervise the wiring and detect cable faults such as open circuits.
