Apollo Intelligent IR² Flame Detector (Part No. 55000-280APO)

The Apollo Intelligent IR² Flame Detector (55000-280APO) provides rapid flame detection in environments where open flaming fires are likely to occur. Using advanced dual infrared (IR²) sensing technology, the detector monitors two different infrared wavelengths, enabling it to distinguish genuine flames from non-fire sources of radiation and helping to reduce false alarms.

The 55000-280APO responds to the characteristic flickering infrared radiation produced by flames, including flames that may not be visible to the naked eye. In addition, the detector can identify fires through thin layers of oil, dust, water, and ice, making it fitting for challenging industrial environments where contamination may affect other detection technologies.

Designed for use with Apollo Discovery and XP95 addressable fire alarm systems, the detector includes a remote optical self test function that allows engineers to verify performance without accessing the device directly. Furthermore, its 90° field of view and coverage of up to 40 metres enable effective monitoring of large, open risk areas.
