The Apollo Series 65A Ionisation Smoke Detector (55000-227USA) provides fast and reliable detection of rapidly developing fires. The detector operates by using a low activity radioactive foil to ionise the air inside the smoke chamber, creating a small electrical current. When smoke enters the chamber, it interrupt the current flow. The detector constantly monitors this change and raises an alarm when smoke levels exceed the preset threshold.
