The Tyco MTL5561 (517.001.302) is a loop-powered, two-channel galvanic isolator designed for connecting conventional fire and smoke detectors in dangerous areas. By providing safe signal isolation between dangerous and safe areas, it allows fire detection devices to operate reliably while maintaining compliance with essential safety requirements.
When a connected detector is activated, the MTL5561 conveys a corresponding change in current to the safe area, making the fire alarm system able to respond correctly. Furthermore, the unit features reverse opposition protection to help prevent wiring errors during installation.
In addition, engineers can connect an earth leakage detector to provide continuous earth fault monitoring on either channel. As a result, the MTL5561 helps maintain system integrity while upgrading fault discovery and diagnostic capabilities.
The MTL5561 is CE marked, replaces the MTL3043 barrier for linking certified devices in Zone 0 dangerous areas.
