SPECS – Marine Engine Safety & Performance Monitoring Systems.

SPECS (SpecsVision) has been a leading manufacturer of marine engine safety systems and ship performance monitoring solutions. Specializing in oil mist detectors (COMD/BWM), torque & power meters (TPM), and vessel efficiency systems (SPM), SPECS helps ship operators prevent engine damage, reduce emissions, and optimize fuel efficiency.

Crank Case Oil Mist Detection.

The SPECS COMD continuously measures oil mist concentration inside engine crankcases and instantly triggers an alarm when preset thresholds are exceeded, preventing potentially catastrophic engine explosions. Designed according to the latest IACS M67 standards, this system features:

  • Highly accurate, real-time oil mist detection

  • Robust, anti-vibration construction with no moving parts

  • Connectivity via RS‑485/422 for integration with ship alarm systems

  • Versatile installation, compatible with both new-builds and retrofits

Atmospheric Oil Mist Detection.

The SPECS Vision IIIA AOMD is a marine-grade atmospheric oil mist detection system engineered to monitor airspaces like engine rooms, gear rooms, and spaces containing oil-based machinery. It offers early detection of oil mist leaks, triggering alarms to prevent fires or explosions

Key Features:

  • Ultra-sensitive detection down to 0.01 mg/l (ppm) for early warning

  • Rugged, low‑contamination sensor and anti‑vibration design for harsh marine environments

  • Integration via RS‑485/422 and 4–20 mA outputs compatible with onboard alarm and monitoring systems

  • Digital LCD, LED indicators for mist alarm, power status, and system faults

  • Conforms to IACS M67 standards, with MIL‑STD performance validation for vibration resilience and shock resistance

Shaft Torque Power RPM Meter.

SPECS Shaft Torque Power RPM Meter (TPM)
The SPECS TPM accurately measures and displays shaft torque, thrust, power, RPM, rotation direction, and accumulated revolutions using strain‑gauge and proximity‑sensor techniques. Designed for both new-build and retrofit installations, it's compatible with all vessel types and supports metric and SI units.

SPECS also offers a portable TPM variant, ideal for temporary measurements during sea trials or use in land-based rotating equipment (e.g. automotive shafts, pumps, turbines). Its features include optical RPM sensing, wireless 2.4 GHz data transfer to a laptop, and bundled software for display, logging (CSV), and analysis
