The Simtronics GDU-01 is an Ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector that listens to the ultrasound that is generated by escaping gas. The gas does not need to cross the optical path of the detector, or come into contact with the detector to be detected. The Simtronics GDU-01 does not detect LEL of ppm values but listens for changes in the background sound.
The leak must have a driving pressure of at least 2 bar to be detected Gas accumulations or vapors cannot be detected with the GDU-01.
