The Tyco MTL5525 (517.001.304) is an intrinsically safe isolating sounder driver designed to control sounders and other low power devices installed in hazardous areas from a safe area. As part of the MTL5000 Series, it provides a simple and reliable solution for interfacing fire and safety systems with field devices located in potentially explosive environments.

The MTL5525 features a single channel and allows a volt-free contact or logic signal in the safe area to control intrinsically safe equipment in the hazardous area. Furthermore, it can drive a wide range of certified devices, including sounders, alarms, LEDs, solenoids, and other low power field equipment.

Designed as a CE-marked replacement for the MTL3021 barrier, the MTL5525 offers a compact and easy to install solution while maintaining compliance with hazardous area requirements. As a result, engineers can safely connect and control field devices in Zone 0, IIC, T4-T6 hazardous areas when used with appropriately certified equipment.
