The Tyco MR601TEx (516.054.011.Y) is an intrinsically safe optical smoke and heat detector designed for hazardous environments where reliable fire detection is essential. By combining optical smoke sensing with heat detection, it responds effectively to a wide range of fire types, from slow smoldering fires to fast burning flames.

Under normal conditions, the MR601TEx operates as a standard optical smoke detector. However, when it detects a rapid rise in temperature, it automatically increases its smoke sensitivity, enabling earlier detection of fast developing fires. As a result, it provides better protection in applications where traditional optical detectors may respond more slowly.

Designed for use in hazardous areas, the detector is ATEX certified and suitable for installations where intrinsically safe equipment is required.
