Hekatron SSD-521 Scattered Light Smoke Detector

Hekatron SSD-521 detects smouldering, glowing and open fires with smoke development at an early stage. The SSD-521 is used wherever smoke-developing flaming fires and smouldering fires are to be detected at an early stage. Light emitter and light sensor are arranged in the sensing chamber in such a way that light from the emitter  cannot strike the sensor directly. Only the light scattered from smoke particles (Tyndall effect) reaches the sensor and is converted into an electrical signal. If this reaches the alarm value, an alarm is automatically sent to the control panel.

This item is no longer available, and is replaced by the SCD-563.
